Taxi and private hire drivers who deserve recognition will be celebrated during the inaugural ‘Parliamentary Taxi and Private hire driver awards’.
The awards has been organised by Daniel Zeichner MP, chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Taxis, with the aim to bring the industry together to celebrate its drivers and inspire passengers.
Daniel Zeichner MP said: “I am really enjoying reading through all the entries so far. It is heart warming to hear about cabbies going the extra mile. I want to shine a spotlight on what’s great about the industry.”
Nominations can be put forward by Members of Parliament. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday 17 September and drivers should contact their local MP to request one.
The awards ceremony will take place at the House of Commons on Tuesday 15 October and will be attended by drivers, MPs, sector representatives, trade unions and sponsors.
